Finnish maternity clinic and maternity health care systems are excellent, and the infant mortality rate is among the lowest in the world (source: Statistics Finland). Finland is known abroad for its high-quality education and wellbeing services. Soon mothers outside Finland will also get to benefit from our expertise!

A woman’s body goes through many changes during pregnancy. The body does not necessarily return to its previous state automatically after childbirth, as pregnancy and childbirth usually leave their marks. It can also take time for the woman to become accustomed to her new life situation.

Fast and easy way to recover after pregnancy

The Nordic Fit Mama online training concept was founded by Riina Laaksonen, a personal trainer specialised in exercise during and after pregnancy. Nordic Fit Mama is funded by Business Finland. The concept combines the latest expertise in the training of moms with innovative technology knowhow.

“It all started from my own experience and separated abdominal muscles,” says Laaksonen. “I made all the classic mistakes. For this reason, I now want to spread the knowledge far and wide.”

An expert to every mother's home

In Finland, we have trained mothers online for two years, and in 2018, it is time for Nordic Fit Mama to conquer international markets! In Finland, the number of participants in the trainings have increased constantly and the training has already helped thousands of moms. Support is also very valuable in everyday life with a baby and in a new life situation, and our virtual trainer is available anytime and anywhere.

“We have made significant investments in product development. In November 2017, Nordic Fit Mama was granted the right to use the Design from Finland emblem granted by the Association for Finnish Work. This is an amazing recognition of our training and Finnish service design,” says Laaksonen. “Nordic Fit Mama is a great example of a new operating field, where service design has created added value for the company and especially for our service users. It is great to be able to provide support for innovative services that enable leading Finnish expertise to be taken abroad,” says the managing director of the Association for Finnish Work Tero Lausala.

“The Nordic approach offers top-class maternity health care and draws from Finnish nature. All the course videos and photos have been filmed and taken outdoors, giving the course a tranquil and unique atmosphere.” No similar training concept currently exists anywhere else in the world”, says Laaksonen.
